NCT ID NCT07607249
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study compares floating needle acupuncture to a standard medication (mosapride) for treating gastrointestinal dysfunction after knee surgery under general anesthesia. 72 adults who had elective knee surgery will receive either one session of floating needle acupuncture or the medication. Researchers will track how quickly bowel function returns and measure symptoms like bloating and nausea.

What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a needle-based alternative to medication for relieving post-surgery gut discomfort and speeding recovery.
