Summary

This study looked at whether using softer, more flexible materials for intravenous catheters (cannulas) can reduce irritation and damage to veins. 27 healthy adults each had two catheters placed in opposite arms—one standard and one more flexible—and were monitored for up to 72 hours. The goal was to see if the softer material changes the angle of the catheter tip, reduces fluid leakage, and extends how long the catheter works before failing.
