First seen Mar 29, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tested whether a steroid eye drop (fluorometholone) given twice daily for four weeks after trachoma surgery could prevent eyelashes from growing back and rubbing against the eye. Over 2,400 people aged 15 and older with trachomatous trichiasis took part. The goal was to see if the drops are safe and effective enough for widespread use in trachoma programs.
