Can a fitbit and texts stop diabetes in teens?
NCT ID NCT04953442
Summary
This study tested if a simple program could help prevent type 2 diabetes in Hispanic teenagers with obesity. Researchers gave 43 teens a Fitbit and sent them encouraging text messages for 12 weeks to help them move more and sleep better. The main goal was to see if this tech-based approach was easy to use and acceptable, as a first step toward a larger health program.
