Summary
This study tested whether text messages and fitness trackers can motivate adults to be more physically active. 98 adults from a diabetes prevention program took part. The program sent encouraging texts for 26 weeks, but did not prescribe specific exercises. Researchers measured changes in activity minutes and steps, and asked participants what they thought of the program.
