Could asking clients 'How's it Going?' transform social services?
NCT ID NCT07303608
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a method called Feedback Informed Treatment (FIT) in Swedish social services. Social workers will regularly ask clients for feedback using simple rating scales, then adjust support based on what clients say. The goal is to see if this reduces dropout and helps people with issues like substance use, housing problems, or family conflict. 400 adults receiving social services will take part.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Feedback informed treatment (FIT) - a behavioral approach using regular client feedback tools
What this could lead to
If it works, this could show that regularly asking clients how things are going helps social workers provide better support and reduces people dropping out of services.
What could go wrong
This is a relatively early study with 400 participants, and the approach depends heavily on how well social workers adopt it. Results may not apply to all social service settings.
