Is your oxygen reading wrong? it might depend on your finger
NCT ID NCT04771663
Summary
This study aimed to find out if the finger you choose to place a pulse oximeter sensor on affects the oxygen level reading it gives. Researchers tested 24 healthy volunteers by having them briefly breathe air with low oxygen and high carbon dioxide while measuring oxygen levels from all their fingers. The goal was to see if readings vary by finger, which could help doctors and patients get more accurate results.
