New combo fights debilitating cancer fatigue

NCT ID NCT03525873

Summary

This study aims to see if a common stimulant medication (methylphenidate) combined with a guided exercise program can reduce severe, cancer-related fatigue. It involves 212 patients with advanced cancer who are receiving a specific type of immunotherapy (anti-PD1) and are struggling with significant tiredness. Participants are randomly assigned to receive either the real medication or a placebo, while everyone follows the same physical activity plan, to compare the effects on their energy levels and quality of life.
