New imaging technique for fatty liver disease tested – but study pulled

NCT ID NCT05827432

First seen Apr 06, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This pilot study aimed to see if a special MRI scan called field-cycling imaging could detect different stages of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), from early fat buildup to more serious scarring. The study planned to include adults with NAFLD who could safely have an MRI. However, the study was withdrawn before enrolling any participants, so no results are available.
