First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looked at whether people with fibromyalgia have early, hidden changes in heart function. Researchers used a special ultrasound technique called Global Longitudinal Strain (GLS) to measure heart muscle movement in 59 fibromyalgia patients and 59 healthy volunteers. The goal was to see if fibromyalgia is linked to subtle heart problems that standard tests might miss.
