New scan could help doctors better target deadly brain tumors
NCT ID NCT06466031
First seen May 01, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether a special PET scan (FET-PET) combined with MRI can help doctors more precisely remove and radiate glioblastoma, the most aggressive brain cancer. About 189 adults with a single tumor will be randomly assigned to standard MRI-guided treatment or the new combined imaging approach. The goal is to see if this method improves how long patients live without the cancer growing back.
