New scan could sharpen radiation targeting for deadly brain tumors
NCT ID NCT06451042
First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated Jun 05, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study tested whether a special type of scan (FET-PET/MRI) can more accurately show the full extent of glioblastoma brain tumors after surgery. The goal was to see if this scan could help doctors plan radiation treatment better than standard MRI alone. Eleven adults who had surgery for glioblastoma took part. The results may lead to more precise radiation, potentially improving survival and reducing side effects.
