First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a type of PET scan using a special tracer called [18F]FET can accurately tell the difference between a returning brain tumor (glioma) and harmless changes caused by previous treatment. Researchers analyzed scans from 253 patients of all ages who had already been treated for glioma and showed suspicious findings on standard MRI. The goal was to see how well this imaging method could avoid unnecessary biopsies or treatments.
