Scientists freeze hope for boys facing infertility from cancer treatment

NCT ID NCT02972801

Summary

This study offers an experimental procedure to freeze testicular tissue from boys who are about to undergo treatments (like chemotherapy) that will likely make them infertile. The goal is to preserve the tissue so that, if future scientific advances allow, it could potentially be used to help them have biological children later in life. The study is for boys who are not yet producing mature sperm and have no other fertility preservation options.
