ICU sedation showdown: which drug helps patients wake up better?

NCT ID NCT06479655

Summary

This study compares two common medications, fentanyl and morphine, used to keep critically ill patients comfortable and sedated while they are on breathing machines in the intensive care unit (ICU). Researchers want to see which drug works better to achieve the right level of sedation and whether one leads to shorter time on the ventilator or in the hospital. The study will involve 116 adult ICU patients who are expected to need a breathing machine for more than a day.
