Leg ultrasound may guide fluid therapy in shock patients
NCT ID NCT07546656
First seen Apr 25, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study looks at whether measuring the size of a vein and artery in the leg with ultrasound can tell doctors if a patient in the ICU with shock needs more fluids. About 100 adults on breathing machines who already have special monitoring will be included. The goal is to find a quick, non-invasive way to guide fluid treatment and avoid giving too much or too little fluid.
