Poop pills to fight cancer drug side effects?

NCT ID NCT04163289

Summary

This study is testing if a fecal transplant (transferring healthy gut bacteria from a donor) can help patients with advanced kidney cancer better tolerate a powerful two-drug immunotherapy combination. The goal is to reduce severe side effects so patients can stay on their cancer treatment longer and potentially have better outcomes. Researchers will give the transplant before and during the first rounds of immunotherapy to 20 patients and monitor their safety, side effects, and how their gut bacteria changes.
