First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study tested whether transferring healthy bacteria from donor stool (FMT) could prevent repeat urinary tract infections (UTIs) in women. Forty women with frequent UTIs received FMT and were monitored for 12 months. The goal was to see if this approach could reduce infection episodes and offer an alternative to long-term antibiotic use.
