First seen Mar 20, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study tests whether transferring healthy gut bacteria (via fecal transplant) can improve liver function in people with primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). About 72 adults will receive either a real transplant or a sham procedure, alongside their usual medication. The goal is to see if this approach lowers liver enzymes and bilirubin after 48 weeks.
