Could a 'Poop Pill' tame your troubled gut?

NCT ID NCT05740319

Summary

This study is testing whether a treatment called fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) can help people with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) that hasn't improved with standard treatments. About 102 participants will receive healthy donor gut bacteria, given as capsules or through a tube, once a month for three months. Researchers will track changes in gut symptoms, mood, and quality of life to see if the treatment is safe and effective.
