First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study is testing whether taking fecal microbiota transplants (FMT) in capsule form can reduce frailty and improve overall health in people aged 70-85. The researchers believe that restoring a healthy balance of gut bacteria may slow aging and lower the risk of age-related diseases. The trial will follow 210 participants for nearly two years to measure changes in frailty, thinking skills, and physical function.
