Poop transplants could save lives after stem cell therapy

NCT ID NCT07364617

Summary

This study is testing whether transplanting healthy gut bacteria from a donor (a fecal transplant) can help patients with a severe and often deadly gut complication after a stem cell transplant. The complication, called graft-versus-host disease, happens when the donor's immune cells attack the patient's gut, and it doesn't get better with standard steroid treatment. Researchers will give the transplant to 35 adult patients to see if it improves their gut symptoms and survival.
