Poo pills for youth? scientists test gut bugs against aging
NCT ID NCT05598112
Summary
This study is testing whether taking oral capsules containing healthy donor stool (fecal microbiota transplantation) can help control aging-related decline in older adults. Researchers will enroll 210 people aged 70-85 to receive either the treatment or a placebo, then track changes in frailty, memory, physical function, and various health markers over two years. The goal is to see if restoring gut bacteria can promote healthier aging.
