Brain cancer breakthrough? new PET-Guided radiation aims to outsmart glioblastoma

NCT ID NCT05653622

First seen Dec 09, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tests a new radiation approach for people with glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer, who are too frail for standard surgery. The method uses a special PET scan (FDOPA) to find the most dangerous parts of the tumor and delivers a higher radiation dose only to those areas, while the rest of the brain gets a standard dose. The goal is to see if this targeted boost can help patients live longer without the cancer growing back.
