New trial: could walking and thinking beat fatigue in muscle disease?

NCT ID NCT06659627

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether 16 weeks of aerobic exercise or cognitive behavioral therapy can reduce severe fatigue in people with myasthenia gravis, a muscle weakness condition. Sixty adults with stable MG will be randomly assigned to exercise, therapy, or usual care. The goal is to see if these approaches improve fatigue scores enough to make a real difference in daily life.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

aerobic exercise therapy and cognitive behavioural therapy

What this could lead to

If successful, this could offer drug-free ways to manage fatigue in myasthenia gravis, improving daily life.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage trial (60 people) testing behavioral interventions, not a new drug. Results may not apply to all patients, and fatigue may not improve significantly.
