Brain scans aim to unlock mystery of fatigue in cerebral palsy

NCT ID NCT07059702

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at why people with cerebral palsy often feel very tired. Researchers will use EEG and PET scans to compare brain activity in 50 adults with mild versus severe fatigue. The goal is to find a brain network linked to fatigue, which could lead to better treatments in the future.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to

If successful, this study could reveal a brain-based cause for fatigue in cerebral palsy, pointing toward new treatment targets.

What could go wrong

This is a small observational study with no intervention, so it cannot prove cause or provide a treatment directly. Results may not apply to all people with cerebral palsy.
