Scientists test how fatigue tricks the aging brain
NCT ID NCT04806022
Summary
This study aimed to understand how different types of tiredness—mental fatigue and muscle fatigue—affect an older person's ability to walk and think at the same time. Researchers tested 66 participants, including younger adults and two groups of older adults, by having them walk and count numbers before and after performing tiring tasks. The goal was to gather knowledge to improve how doctors assess fall risk and cognitive changes in older patients.
