NCT ID NCT06074068
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a therapy called Fathers for Change (F4C) for fathers who have been violent with their partner. The goal is to see if this 18-week program helps fathers control their emotions and communicate better, reducing violence toward partners and children. About 1,080 fathers will be randomly assigned to F4C or a standard program, and researchers will track changes in violence and children's mental health over time.

Active substance
Fathers for Change (F4C) therapy
What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide a more effective way to reduce family violence and improve children's mental health compared to standard programs.
What could go wrong
This is a behavioral intervention trial, so results depend on participant engagement and may not generalize to all families. The study is still recruiting, and outcomes are measured over time.
