Fasting tested as natural mood booster for women in midlife
NCT ID NCT07481513
Summary
This study is testing whether a popular eating pattern called intermittent fasting can improve mental health for women going through perimenopause. Researchers will compare about 100 women aged 45-55 who follow a 16/8 fasting schedule (eating only during an 8-hour window each day) with women who follow standard dietary guidelines. The goal is to see if this non-drug approach can help reduce symptoms like depression, anxiety, and poor sleep that often occur during this life transition.
