New scanner aims to slash prostate surgery time

Summary
This study is testing a new, FDA-approved imaging device called the Histolog Scanner. It is used during prostate cancer surgery to quickly check if cancer cells are left at the edges of the removed tissue. The main goal is to see if this scanner can save surgeons at least 20 minutes per surgery compared to the current method, while still being safe and accurate. Researchers will also measure how easy the device is for surgeons and pathologists to use.
