New MRI method could slash scan time for stroke victims

NCT ID NCT07199920

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This pilot study tests a new, faster MRI technique called MR fingerprinting for people who have had an ischemic stroke. Standard MRI scans take 20-25 minutes, but every minute counts in stroke care. The study will enroll 10 adults with a recent stroke to see if the new method can produce clear, usable images more quickly. If successful, it could help doctors make faster treatment decisions and improve patient outcomes.
