Brain wave test may sharpen epilepsy surgery decisions

NCT ID NCT06105645

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 11, 2026 · Updated 35 times

Summary

This study looks at whether detecting a specific type of brain wave, called fast-ripples, can help doctors better plan surgery for people with epilepsy that doesn't improve with medication. About 440 adults will take part, with half getting the new brain wave test during their standard monitoring. The main goal is to see if using this test leads to more people being free of disabling seizures one year after surgery.
