Study aims to send kidney surgery patients home sooner
NCT ID NCT04601129
Summary
This study tested a special recovery program designed to help patients go home faster after minimally invasive kidney cancer surgery. The program included detailed patient education, reduced pain medication use, and encouraged eating, drinking, and moving soon after the operation. Researchers compared 60 patients on this fast-track program to a similar group who had standard recovery care to see if it safely shortened hospital stays without increasing complications.
