Quick MRI spots hidden breast cancers after normal mammograms
NCT ID NCT03664778
First seen Jan 17, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a fast breast MRI can find cancers that mammograms miss in women who have already been treated for breast cancer with lumpectomy and radiation. About 184 women who had a normal mammogram in the last six months and were at least three years past their initial treatment received a quick MRI. The goal was to see if the MRI could detect any hidden cancer in either breast.
