First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested whether a hands-on technique called fascial manipulation can improve shoulder movement and body awareness in people with rotator cuff tendinitis. Thirty-two adults with persistent shoulder pain received the therapy twice a week for four weeks. Researchers measured shoulder blade position and joint position sense to see if the treatment helped.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
fascial manipulation (a hands-on therapy using thumb pressure on muscles)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a non-drug, non-surgical option to improve shoulder function and body awareness in people with rotator cuff tendinitis.
What could go wrong
This is a small, completed trial with only 32 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The therapy is manual and effects may vary.
