Virtual family coaches take aim at rural health crisis

NCT ID NCT04891575

Summary

This study tested whether a family-focused virtual coaching program could help rural adults at risk for heart disease and type 2 diabetes. Over 500 participants from rural Kentucky were randomly assigned to receive the lifestyle coaching either alone or with a family member. The program, delivered by community health workers, provided education and support over a year to see if it improved health markers like weight, blood pressure, and activity levels.
