Summary

This study tests whether a program that involves a family member or close friend can help African American adults with type 2 diabetes better manage their blood sugar and improve their quality of life. About 208 participants will work with a partner to learn diabetes self-care skills. The goal is to see if this team approach leads to better health outcomes.
