Family by their side: new approach may stop Kids' Post-Surgery delirium

NCT ID NCT06092671

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study tests whether having family involved in a child's care before, during, and after anesthesia can lower the chance of emergency delirium—a state of confusion and agitation—after surgery. Researchers will compare this family-centered approach to standard care in 444 children aged 2 to 6 undergoing short surgeries. The goal is to find a simple, non-drug way to help kids wake up more calmly.
