Dads as shields: new study enlists black men to protect girls from HIV

Summary

This study tests a program that teaches Black male caregivers how to talk to and support the Black girls in their lives to reduce their risk of HIV, other sexually transmitted infections, and sexual violence. About 612 pairs of caregivers and girls aged 14-18 will take part. The goal is to see if involving male caregivers can lower infection rates and promote safer sexual behaviors.
