First seen Feb 02, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a heart procedure called catheter ablation can slow or improve memory loss in people with mild cognitive impairment and persistent atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat). About 120 adults aged 60-80 will be randomly assigned to either medication alone or ablation plus medication. The main goal is to see if the ablation group has better thinking scores after 6 months.
