New stomach drug may improve blood thinner safety after heart stent

NCT ID NCT07471867

First seen Apr 07, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a new acid-reducing medicine called zastaprazan works better than standard drugs (PPIs) at keeping blood thinners working properly in heart patients. About 100 adults with chronic heart disease who recently had a stent placed will take either zastaprazan or a PPI along with their blood thinners. The goal is to see if zastaprazan causes less interference with the blood thinner clopidogrel, which could lower the risk of heart attacks or clots.
