Eye-Tracking tech fights ICU confusion

NCT ID NCT06029244

Summary

This study tested whether adding a special eye-tracking communication device to standard ICU care could help prevent or lessen delirium in critically ill patients on breathing machines. It involved 160 patients aged 50 and older who were expected to need ventilation for at least a day. Researchers compared patients who used the real device to those who used a sham device to see if it reduced how often and how severely delirium occurred.
