Scientists train eyes to see around blind spots

NCT ID NCT05456581

Summary

This study tested a new training method to help people with macular degeneration, a leading cause of central vision loss. Researchers taught 21 participants to become more aware of their blind spot and use a different, healthier part of their eye to see. The goal was to see if this 'scotoma awareness' training could help people use their remaining vision more effectively.
