Eye scans could unlock clues for rare, incurable disease

NCT ID NCT07006649

Summary

This study aims to understand a rare genetic disease called pseudoxanthoma elasticum (PXE) by looking at blood flow in the back of the eye. Researchers will compare detailed eye scans from 60 healthy volunteers to scans from 60 patients with PXE. The goal is to see if changes in eye blood flow can serve as a measurable sign to track the disease and help test future treatments.
