Doctors use eye scan to predict Post-Surgery confusion

NCT ID NCT07249047

Summary

This study aims to see if a simple, non-invasive eye ultrasound can help predict which patients become confused after heart surgery. Researchers will measure the thickness of a nerve behind the eye in 300 patients before and after their operation. They will compare these measurements to standard confusion tests to see if the scan can spot patients at risk earlier.
