Scientists test how eyes feel pain to unlock new treatments

NCT ID NCT05758753

Summary

This study aims to better understand how the nerves in the eye respond to sensations like heat, cold, and vibration in people with certain eye surface diseases. Researchers will test 108 participants, including healthy individuals and those with conditions like dry eye disease and neurotrophic keratitis, using a non-invasive sensory test. The goal is to link how patients feel pain with images of their eye nerves to learn more about these diseases and identify potential future treatments.
