Eye scans may forecast vision loss in macular degeneration
NCT ID NCT00734487
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study looked at whether special eye scans (SDOCT) can predict vision loss and worsening of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) in people at moderate to high risk. Researchers followed 470 adults aged 50-85 who were already in a larger AMD trial. They measured changes in the retina over time to see if these changes could forecast disease progression.
