Simple eye drop could prevent painful eyelash regrowth after surgery

NCT ID NCT04149210

Summary

This study tested if adding a common steroid eye drop (fluorometholone) for four weeks after surgery for trachoma could help prevent the eyelashes from growing back into the eye. It involved over 2,400 patients who had surgery to correct this painful condition. The goal was to see if this extra treatment was safe, effective, and worth the cost for large public health programs.
