Scientists map hidden path to diabetic blindness
NCT ID NCT04636307
Summary
This study aimed to better understand how early diabetic eye disease progresses. Researchers followed 202 people with Type 2 diabetes and mild eye changes for two years. They used advanced, non-invasive eye scans to identify specific patterns that signal a higher risk of the disease worsening and threatening vision.
