First seen May 14, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looked at whether changes in the back of the eye (the retina) can be an early sign of Alzheimer's disease. Researchers measured the thickness of the retinal nerve layer in 200 older adults, some with Alzheimer's and some without. The goal was to see if these eye measurements could help detect the disease before major memory loss occurs.
